Getting professional support
Taking care of your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just need someone to talk to, support is available.
Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, and you do not have to go through difficult moments alone. You can start by speaking to your GP, who can give advice, support, and refer you to specialist services if needed.

Children and young people

Kooth is a free, safe, anonymous online platform that provides counselling services and mental health services for young people aged 13 and over.

NHS Talking Therapies provide support for people 18 years old and over living with depression and anxiety. They have an option to self-refer.

Bereavement support
Help is at hand is a resource for people bereaved through suicide or other unexplained death, and for those helping them.
Edward's trust offers free, specialist bereavement support for parents, children and young people.
