Anxiety

Find support if you need help now.

If you, or someone you are with, is in immediate danger, phone 999 or 111.

Anxiety is a feeling of worry or nervousness about different parts of our lives.

It is normal to feel anxious for short periods, for example, before a big test or job interview.

This feeling can come from various life events, such as:

  • stress at work
  • money problems
  • difficulties in personal relationships with family, friends, or partners

However, if your feelings of anxiety stick around when there are no clear stressors, you may have an anxiety disorder.

If you are experiencing any physical effects of anxiety or find it is impacting your day-to-day life, it might be time to seek help. Ask for an urgent GP appointment or phone 111.

111 can tell you the right place to get help if you or someone you know needs to see someone.
